Drive Smart Bristol

1. General

By booking driving lessons with Drive Smart Bristol, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a professional, safe, and reliable service for both instructor and pupil.

2. Lesson Bookings

Lessons must be booked in advance and are subject to instructor availability.
Lesson duration and fees will be agreed at the time of booking.
The instructor reserves the right to refuse or discontinue lessons if they believe it is unsafe or inappropriate to continue.

3. Cancellation Policy

A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a driving lesson.
Any lesson cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged at the full lesson rate.
Failure to attend a booked lesson without prior notice (“no-show”) will result in the full lesson fee being charged.
Repeated short-notice cancellations may result in future bookings being refused.

4. Instructor Cancellation

In the event of vehicle breakdown, adverse weather conditions, illness, family emergency, or any other unforeseen circumstance, the instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson at short notice.
Every effort will be made to provide as much notice as possible.
Any lesson cancelled by the instructor will be rearranged at a mutually convenient time or refunded if applicable.
The instructor shall not be liable for any costs, losses, or inconvenience caused by lesson cancellations due to circumstances beyond their control.

5. Payment

Payment must be made before or at the start of each lesson unless otherwise agreed.
Block booking discounts, where offered, must be paid in advance.
Refunds for unused lessons from block bookings will be at the instructor’s discretion and may be calculated at the standard lesson rate rather than the discounted rate.

6. Pupil Responsibilities

Pupils must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and present it upon request.
Pupils must inform the instructor of any medical condition, medication, or legal restriction that may affect their ability to drive.
Pupils must wear suitable footwear and be fit to drive for each lesson.
Lessons will not be conducted if a pupil is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that impairs driving ability. In such cases, the lesson fee remains payable in full.

7. Driving Test Bookings

Driving tests should not be booked without prior consultation with the instructor.
Use of the instructor’s vehicle for a practical driving test is subject to the instructor’s approval.
If the instructor believes the pupil has not reached the required standard for the test, they reserve the right to refuse use of their vehicle.

8. Punctuality

The instructor will make every effort to arrive on time.
If a lesson starts late due to the instructor, the lost time will be added to the lesson where possible or rearranged.
If a pupil is late, the lesson will normally finish at the scheduled time and the full lesson fee will still apply.

9. Safety and Conduct

The instructor reserves the right to terminate a lesson immediately if a pupil behaves in an abusive, threatening, aggressive, or unsafe manner.
No refund will be given for lessons terminated due to unacceptable behaviour.

10. Data Protection

Personal information will be stored and processed in accordance with applicable UK data protection laws.
Information will only be used for the administration of driving lessons and related services.

11. Amendments

Drive Smart Bristol reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Updated terms will be made available upon request or published on the driving school’s website/social media pages.

12. Acceptance

Booking and attending lessons with Drive Smart Bristol constitutes acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
